About the course2 years full time Successful completion of this MA professionally qualifies you as a social worker. Independent studies place us among the UK's top five departments for social work teaching. The course provides you with skills, knowledge and analytical abilities you can apply in a practical setting. You'll develop an understanding of social work law and policy in relation to children and families, community care and mental health and the impact of particular theories on social work practice. Entry requirementsYou'll need a minimum 2:2 honours degree in any subject plus relevant experience, paid or voluntary, in a caring profession. Requirements for overseas studentsEnglish language requirements: IELTS 7 (with no less than 6.5 in each part), or equivalent. We can only accept you onto this course if you have lived in the UK for the last five years, or have completed a CRB check considered equivalent to the UK's in the country where you have been living.
