Your career

A masters from Sheffield is the mark of someone who thinks differently. Our graduates are creative, disciplined individuals who make a difference wherever they go. Many of our MBA students use their degree to change career direction or to achieve faster progression within their organisations.

Others use their specialised degree to enter a particular field of management such as human resources, finance or leisure or to set up their own business. Those without an undergraduate background in management use their masters to gain an understanding of business practices, and their improved analytical skills help to get an early foothold on a career in management.

Real-world skills

Our postgraduate management degrees will teach you real-world skills for real-world situations. We'll teach you how to identify opportunities, how to solve problems and how to become a leader. You can either follow a general management route or specialise in an area that interests you.

We have a body of world-class researchers with strong international links, who are working in exciting and policy-relevant areas. Our research underpins our teaching and we have close links with industry, commerce and local government.

Learning environment

You'll study close to the city centre and opposite the Management Library, which contains specialised textbooks and printed copies of journals. The School is a few minutes' walk away from the Information Commons, with its extensive facilities of core textbooks, computers, work spaces and student meeting rooms, all of which can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

MBA students will study in executive facilities based at the Edge in our Endcliffe Village campus. Set in attractive lawned gardens, the Edge is a new building with flexible study space backed by all the latest ICT facilities.
