About the course

2 years part time

Explore ideas, policies, theories and practices relating to work with communities. We teach a reflexive way of working, based on empowering people. You'll learn how to carry out research based on genuine consultation.

Entry requirements

A first degree, as well as evidence of an interest in your community and in changing it for the better.

English language requirements

IELTS 6.5 (with at least 5.5 in each part), or TOEFL 91 (IBT), or equivalent.

You'll be in the University approximately one day a week in term-time – but not every week. You'll be assigned a personal tutor to help you with the programme.

The programme is specifically designed for those who wish to combine study with other commitments.

Assessment

  • Coursework – including presentations as well as written assignments
  • You'll work with a tutor to make sure your assignments fit closely with your interests
