About the course

2-3 years part time by distance learning

Lead academic: Mrs Carolyn Leach

This is a distance learning course. The course is designed for practising orthoptists, allowing you to study for a higher degree without having to leave your current post.

Entry requirements

You'll need either a Diploma of British Orthoptics or a degree in orthoptics, or an equivalent overseas qualification in orthoptics. Ideally you should also have at least one year's clinical experience following your first degree.

If you have another appropriate first degree, such as optometry, we'll consider your application.

English language requirements for overseas students

An IELTS score (or equivalent) of at least 6.5, with all elements at least 6.0 and the listening component at least 6.5.
