Crossways in Cultural Narratives (Mundus) - MA

School of Modern Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Sheffield's large and academically diverse School of Modern Languages offers a thriving postgraduate community with a truly international outlook.

About the course

2 years full time

This truly international course, selected as part of the European Union Mundus scheme, is an exciting opportunity to obtain a masters qualification from three prestigious universities including Sheffield.

Study a programme of European languages, cultures and literatures provided by a consortium of 11 European and overseas universities. You'll explore European culture, past and present, reflecting the specialisations of the universities taking part.

For most students the course lasts four semesters. You spend either your first semester, or your fourth semester, or both your second and third semesters in Sheffield. The other semesters are spent at two partner institutions:

  • The Universities of Bergamo (Italy)
  • New Lisbon (Portugal)
  • Perpignan (France)
  • Santiago de Compostela (Spain)
  • Poznan (Poland)
  • Guelph (Canada)
  • Universidad Nacional de Entre Ríos (Argentina)
  • Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México (Mexico)

You'll be fully supported wherever you choose to study.

There is a one year version of the course which may be available to students with significant prior MA-level study.
