Schools Competition Act Settlement Trust (SCAST)
During 2005, 50 independent schools were the subject of an investigation by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) into the sharing of fee information. As part of the agreed resolution of the OFT's investigation, the schools involved agreed to put £3 million into a charitable trust designed to benefit pupils who attended the schools during the period in respect of which the fee information was shared (academic years 2001/02 to 2003/04).
The awards made by the SCAST include Postgraduate Research Scholarships, Postgraduate Bursaries, General Bursaries, and Project Awards. Full details of the various awards are available on the SCAST website:

Eligibility
Eligibility is determined by the SCAST eligibility criteria as set out on their website. Applicants should review this guidance in the first instance.
The general eligibility requirements are that applications will only be accepted from former pupils of contributing schools who attended after 15 September 2001 (Sedbergh - 15 September 2002) and who are now aged between 18-30.
