Recent changes to Portering Services
Portering Services at the University have been reviewed over the past two years to identify best practice and ensure a customer led service provision to meet the changing demands of the University, its staff, students and visitors.
The new structure of Portering Services reflects recent changes to the University's structure such as the creation of Faculties and the appointments of Pro-Vice Chancellors and Directors of Faculty Operations.
The main changes include:
- The introduction of Service Delivery Coordinators in Faculties, providing a “meet and greet” service and a “one stop shop” service for Faculties, visitors and student enquiries on a range of issues.
- The introduction of a Logistics Team, carrying out a variety of specialists duties including furniture set ups, small scale office moves and room preparation for examination and graduation events across the University.
- Expansion of the Waste and Recycling Team, who provide collection of waste and recycling across the University supporting the University’s environmental policy.
- A purpose built Mail Room at North Campus with scope to expand and provide new cost effective postal solutions across the University.
