BA International Politics and East Asian Studies
The dual degree in International Politics and East Asian Studies provides the opportunity to focus on the international dimension of the study of politics together with specialist studies of the East Asian region. It is taught jointly by the Department of Politics and the School of East Asian Studies, both of which are highly regarded for both research and teaching.
The politics component of the course introduces you to a wide range of theories related to contemporary issues, political theory and to the discipline of political studies. It will teach you to apply concepts, theories and methods used in the study of politics to the analysis of political ideas, institutions and practices. At the School of East Asian Studies students are encouraged to take an inter-disciplinary approach to studying China, Japan and Korea. In addition to focusing on contemporary East Asia in all its diversity, we place a strong emphasis on the acquisition of advanced language skills.
