Taught Masters: MA in Politics
Created with the maximum flexibility, so you can design your own pathway to an MA in Politics.
This programme does not have core modules; instead, students build their programme from a wide-ranging choice of option modules. This flexibility is ideal for those with a broad range of interests in politics or for those who want to construct a curriculum around a particular area of interest. The structure allows students to develop a broad-based knowledge of politics, and learn from prominent academics with diverse areas of expertise. This is an academically rigorous course which is equivalent to our other Masters courses.
The Department of Politics was ranked joint top in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise with 95% of published work deemed of international quality, 45% of which was considered world leading. Our MA in Politics is highly regarded by employers and provides a good basis for your future career.

This course does not have any core modules.
- Option modules to the value of 120 credits (all modules are subject to availability);
- POL6660 Dissertation for MA in Politics (60 credits).

Duration: One year full time, two years part time (September to September). Our part time programmes follow a flexible pathway agreed between the student and their programme director.
