How to apply

tIf you'd like a place on an undergraduate course, please apply through UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service.

Your UCAS form

If you're at school or a college in the UK, your teacher will give you an application form.

If you've left school, you can get hold of the application form from your local careers service or by getting in touch with UCAS – we've given the contact details for UCAS below.

For students outside the UK, you can ask for an application form from UCAS or from your local British Council office.

When you complete the application form, you'll need to enter our institution code name: SHEFD, our institution code: S18, and the course code for your chosen degree in section 3.

UCAS must receive your application between 1 September and 15 January during the year before entry. (If you're also applying for courses at Oxford University or Cambridge University or for courses in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine, then there is an earlier closing date of 15 October.) We can usually consider late applications received by UCAS after the deadline, but we suggest that if at all possible you apply before 15 January.

Gap years

If you're planning to take a gap year before starting your university course, you're very welcome to apply for deferred entry. We will treat your application on the same basis as if you were applying for entry in the year of application. However, please note that you must meet all the conditions of our offer by 31 August in the year of application.
