Module Summary

This optional module involves a discussion of the basic physics of energy, power and work and the conversion of energy from one form to another. The history of global energy usage will be examined, together with the impacts that this energy use has on the biosphere and climate and the public perception of such processes. Consideration of renewable technologies will be given, together with solutions to our energy needs including transportation, energy conservation, carbon capture and geo-engineering.
