Ethics Review Procedure

All members of staff within the Department of Physics & Astronomy and supervised-students who are registered with the Department and who plan to undertake research which involves human participants, personal data or human tissue, must ensure that their proposed research is ethically approved via the appropriate ethics review procedure, prior to commencing such research.

The Department operates the ethics review procedure in accordance with the University's Research Ethics Policy.

To find out more about the Ethics Policy visit the central ethics web pages:

These web pages contain detailed information about the ethics approval procedure:

The Department uses the standard University application forms. These can be downloaded here:

Once the application form has been completed it should be submitted (with any supporting documents such as participant information sheets or consent forms) to the Department’s Ethics Administrator.
