Current projects
David Bell's primary research commitment at the moment is to a full-length study of Kant's metaphysics of experience, the provisional title of which is Making Sense of Things. This will comprise an examination of Kant's transcendental idealism, as well as his views on concepts, judgements, meaning, understanding, objects, objectivity, and the self. Subsidiary research projects presently include, firstly, an investigation of the historical origins of the so-called "revolution in philosophy" inaugurated by Moore and Russell at the beginning of this century; and secondly, an exploration of Merleau-Ponty's notion of the body-subject.
