PHI339 - Morality, Identity and Freedon

Outline:

This course will examine many of the major themes in the moral philosophy of Kant. In part, the course will concern the interpretation of Kant’s thought but we shall mainly be evaluating Kant’s moral philosophy. This will involve comparing Kant’s views with those of his near contemporaries like Hume whilst also scrutinising both the recent wave of neo-Kantian moral philosophy and the work of some of Kant’s recent critics.
