Undergraduate conference
The University of Sheffield Philosophy Undergraduate Conference is arranged every year by the Sheffield philosophy department and is a great chance for undergraduates to experience presenting one of their own papers to an interested group of peers.
Our most recent undergraduate conference took place on February 21st, 2024. It featured student talks on God, existential crisis and hope, feminist philosophy of disability and personal identity. The conference also included a lecturer panel on metaethics and a philosophy quiz.
Past events
The University of Sheffield undergraduate philosophy conference is organised by students. It provides students with a great chance to practice presenting one of their own papers to their peers. Previously, the conference featured talks from lecturers Robbie Morgan (University of Sheffield) on 'What makes an attack sexual?' and Jack Woods (University of Leeds) on 'Abductive immodesty in mathematics and morality', alongside talks from students on a wide variety of philosophical topics.
