Safety

Sheffield is regarded as one of the safest cities in England but, even so, incidents happen from time to time just as they would in any city and your son or daughter should take sensible precautions, including remembering to lock windows and doors.

They should take out insurance for their personal possessions, but first check your own House Contents' policy for cover.

Remind them to keep alert. There is a tendency for some students to behave as people often do on holiday, thinking that normal rules and precautions don't apply. They do.
