Summary
The prognosis of many cancers is steadily improving but cancer treatments are associated with a variety of long-term side-effects. We have a newly established research programme evaluating this previously under researched area.
Aims
Our intention is to establish a research-based model of long-term follow-up to identify and appropriately manage late effects of cancer treatment. Priorities are:
- Skeletal effects of cancer treatment
- Breast cancer risk after radiotherapy for Hodgkin's Disease
- Defining hypogonadism in men and developing effective replacement therapy
- Oestrogen replacement in women with ovarian failure
- Transition of care for adolescent and young adult cancer survivors
