Techniques supported
We are open to supporting a wide range of techniques.
The most popular techniques requested which we commonly support include microsatellite isolation, microsatellite genotyping, SNP-typing and sex-typing.
Training and facilities for the application of microsatellite marker sets for automated genotyping has been (see Supported Publications) and remains the other core request of the Facility. However, the number of applications requesting SNP-typing is increasing.
The Facility also supports other applications, including DNA sequencing, Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism analysis (AFLP), Reference Strand-mediated Conformation analysis (RSCA), multilocus and single-locus minisatellite DNA fingerprinting, and is prepared to consider extending the range of available techniques, by discussion.
Projects that contribute to the training of research students or others are encouraged.
