Single Honours
Your core modules at Level 1 will introduce the range of options available to you, allowing you to make informed choices about the path your degree will take.
The first year includes training in harmony and counterpoint, music history, music technology, music analysis, composition (paper and studio based), music psychology, music of the world and performance: in short, everything that you need to make decisions about your modules in years two and three.
The modular structure of your second and third years will enable you to explore your own interests and create your own path. This may be traditional or contemporary, academic or vocational.

Dual Honours
Our dual honours programmes give you an opportunity to develop your music skills alongside another subject. This is a chance to develop two skill sets, work with two departments and graduate with a truly diverse degree.

You will be taking 60 credits per year with Music and 60 credits in your dual department. The BA link takes you to the online prospectus which provides very basic information. The department link will enable you to explore in greater depth the modules on offer, the course structure and the people that you will meet when you study at Sheffield.
