Peter Batchelar
Trained at RNCM; member of the Aguado Duo for many years. Peter has frequently worked with Opera North, and also the Manchester Camerata, Liverpool Philharmonic and Northern Sinfonia..
A founder member of EGTA(UK) he had a leading role in developing new ideas in educational guitar music,
Between 2006 and 2008, together with Richard Wright, he developed a completely new syllabus for the ABRSM which involved the publication of seven new books: two volumes of Time Pieces for Guitar, Scarlatti for Guitar, Weiss for Guitar and completely revised books of scales and sight-reading - the first time the AB has published music for guitar.
Peter teaches at Leeds College of Music and is an external examiner for the RNCM.
