Alfred Brendel Honorary Degree

On 22 July 2010 The University of Sheffield awarded an honorary degree to Sir Alfred Brendel, one of world´s most revered classical pianists, renowned for his ability to communicate the emotional and intellectual depths of the music he performs and also a highly respected writer and speaker. When asked during a talk he gave at the Music Department what his one word of advice to performing musicians would be, Sir Alfred said ‘compose’.
