Year Abroad

The aim of the year abroad are to enable students to heighten their awareness of cultural and linguistic aspects of the country where they are studying; to encourage integration into that society during the period of study; to foster independent and / or collaborative study in the foreign language.

Modules for: French, Spanish, German and Italian year abroad students

During your year abroad you will improve your language, intercultural and transferable skills by learning how to:

• interact with native speakers of the Target Language Country
• understand complex or specialised texts, identifying key facts, ideas and arguments
• reflect upon the language and culture of the Target Language Country
• reflect upon and make decisions as to how to improve your language and cultural agility
• write extended reports on areas of your study / work
• present findings in writing and speech
