Bone Analysis Laboratory Home

The bone analysis lab was established in 2003 to provide members of the Musculoskeletal theme and academics throughout the medical school with access to contemporary approaches to analysing bone. Facilities within the laboratory include access to experienced histologists, bone histomorphometry expertise, x-ray and high-resolution micro-CT instrumentation. The laboratory is staffed by dedicated histotechnologists and managed on a day-to-day basis by Orla Gallagher and Dr Les Coulton. Activities in the laboratory are focused on three main areas:
- Histology
- Morphological analysis of bone structure
- Bone histomorphometric analysis
