Does this course qualify me to be a Dietitian in the NHS?
No. A Masters in Human Nutrition allows you to be a nutritionist within the community, but to become a dietician within the NHS you would have to undertake a 2 year dietetic course.
Is the course accredited?
Yes, the course is accredited by The Association for Nutrition. Studying on an accredited course means you can gain Direct Entry onto the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists upon graduation. Can you take the part time course on a day release basis?
No. The course is taught over 3 days each week (currently (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) which are fairly full days. The usual option for part-time students is to undertake three or four modules during the first year and the remaining modules during the second year along with the Research or Library Project.
The benefits of undertaking the course through this route are that students can continue in their employment and the cost of the course can be spread over a 2 year period.
Do you offer a Distance Learning course?
No.

How do I decide what research project to do?
Students are presented with a broad choice of projects covering laboratory, community, sports nutrition and so on. Students make 3 choices and preferences are taken account of. Students may suggest projects of their own.
Where can I obtain funding?
Local Authority awards or support from other sources (i.e. charitable trusts) may be available - contact your local Departments concerned.

International students are encouraged to contact their local British Council Office who will give advice and guidance on the various scholarships open to graduates. www.britishcouncil.org
