Module 6 – Molecular Nutrition

This module serves two purposes – it aims to introduce key concepts of molecular biology for students who have little or no prior grounding in this area but are studying nutrition at Masters level, and secondly it aims to demonstrate to Masters level students how 'state of the art' molecular biology techniques are being applied in nutrition research. By the end of the module all students should be able to read and understand original research papers in this field, design experiments and critically evaluate experimental data obtained using molecular approaches. Delivery will be via a combination of lectures, seminars and workshops. Students sit a module examination.
