About The Clinical Academic Working Group
The Clinical Academic Working Group was established in 2006 with representation from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Related Research (SCHARR), the STH Foundation NHS Trust and the Postgraduate Deanery.
Membership of the Clinical Academic Working Group includes

Mr Anil Boury Academic Coordinator, Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery
Lucy Hathaway Training Programme Coordinator, Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery

The working group has trainee representatives from all levels of the training programme.
The Clinical Academic Working Group meets on a regular basis. The Group will advises the School´s Executive Group on Undergraduate and Postgraduate Clinical Academic Training Strategy for the School and reports to the School Council. The Group membership is made up of representatives from Academic Staff in the School, the local NHS Trusts and the Postgraduate Deanery. Its main responsibilities are:
- To advise the School on its strategy for undergraduate and postgraduate clinical academic training and support.
- To disseminate and communicate timely information regarding calls for applications and information on the new Academic Training Pathways.
- To support and advise individual staff members in negotiations with their programme directors concerning clinical academic training posts.
- To liaise with the local NHS Trusts and the Deanery regarding matters of Clinical Academic Training.
- To respond to national consultations and requests for information on Clinical Academic Training matters on behalf of the School.
