Project Presentation and Laboratory Projects (All Pathways)
In the last five months of the course, you will prepare a short presentation and then spend the remaining time on a laboratory project, learning practical research skills.
The project that you select will be unique to you, whilst giving you the opportunity to work alongside active research staff. You will be asked to choose five projects in ranked order of preference from a wide range of research interests including Cardiovascular Science, Musculoskeletal Science, Immunity, Infection & Inflammation, Neuroscience, Oncology and Endocrinology & Reproduction.
All the projects are vetted by the Project Committee to ensure that the projects are well based, that there are clear objectives and that there are also intermediate objectives that constitute a good body of work should the final objective not be achieved.
There is always a surplus of projects to provide students with a wide variety of choice when selecting. Although some projects may be compatible to a single pathway, we generally find that the majority of projects are relevant to more than one pathway.
