School Annual Research Meeting 2012
The Medical School is holding its eighth successive annual Research Meeting on 11-12 June 2012 in the Richard Roberts Building and Firth Hall, University of Sheffield.
Oral presentations will be held in the Richard Roberts Building, and poster presentations, along with lunch, will take place in Firth Hall.
This year's invited speaker and judge is Professor John Hardy (University College London), a geneticist and molecular biologist whose research interests focus on neurological disease.
A programme will be confirmed in due course.
The meeting will begin on Monday 11th June 2012 with a short programme of events developed by the School´s Postdoc Society. The sessions will include poster walks from bench to bedside and a series of presentations on Research Ethics and Integrity.
This session will follow at 16:00 with a wine reception and poster session with more informal poster walks.
On Tuesday 12th June 2012 presentations will be from selected abstracts from staff in the Medical School and clinical colleagues from the local Trusts.
Professor John Hardy(Professor of Neuroscience, University College London) our invited guest and judge will give a talk at 12:00-13:00.
A poster session and rep fair will be held over lunch in Firth Hall.
Aim of the Annual Research Meeting
The aim of the School's Annual Research Meeting is to bring together all members of the School, to encourage the presentation of high quality research by members of the School and to illustrate the breadth of clinical and scientific research currently in progress.
This will be showcased by a series of lectures, short oral and poster presentations.
Prizes will be awarded for the best short talk and poster.
