The Department of Cardiovascular Science is led by Professor David Crossman and comprises nine strong groups working in basic and clinical science.

Research in the Department covers genetic, cellular and clinical research in cardiovascular medicine.

Funding

There are strong links with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust through the Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Unit (Director: Crossman) and the Clinical Research Facility (Director: Newman). Funding sources in the Department include NIHR, MRC, EU and BHF.
