University showcases new conference facilities

The University of Sheffield´s conference team is set to showcase its excellent hospitality facilities to staff and local businesses at its annual exhibition on Tuesday 3 October 2006.

The free exhibition will be taking place between 11.00am and 3.00pm in the Junior Common Room at the University´s Halifax Hall of Residence. It will give staff and local business people the opportunity to learn about the University´s existing conference facilities, as well as find out about new facilities currently under construction.

ConferenceSheffield is encouraging staff and local business people who are involved in booking events to come along to the exhibition and find out how the University can help them. With over 150 meeting rooms ranging from tiered lecture theatres to purpose built conference suites, the University provides enough flexibility to host a range of events from day meetings and training days to residential conferences and exhibitions.

The University is also proud to be able to offer award-winning catering, specialised audio visual equipment and can accommodate up to 1200 delegates. The conference team can provide expert event management advice and organisers can take advantage of competitive inclusive day delegate and residential conference packages.

Those interested in attending the exhibition should contact ConferenceSheffield before 25 September, to secure their place. The conference team are offering a free bottle of wine for the first 40 guests who register and attend the event and all those who register will also be entered into a free prize draw. Prizes include a pair of Beverley Knight tickets, a family day pass at Magna and tickets for one of the University`s music concerts. There will also be a drinks reception and a light lunch for all guests.

Martin Garside, Conference and Events Sales Manager at the University of Sheffield, said: "The University of Sheffield has made one of the largest investments by any UK university into accommodation and conference services and the improvements we are making will benefit both staff and local businesses alike. This event is the perfect opportunity for people to learn more about our new state-of-the art conference facilities and provides a great forum for guests to talk to the team about their specific conference needs."
