Manage the e-recruitment process for externally funded vacancies, i.e. grade 7 and below. Manage the whole process from requisition to request to appoint (RTA). Member of the e-recruitment user group.
Organisation of the departmental graduation day prize-giving and lunch (I work on this between March and July of each year).
Organisation of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Careers Day (I work on this between July and November each year).
Coordination and provision of cover for ASSU reception in the absence of the ASSU receptionist. Duties include:
Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, including post being sent via courier
Assignment hand-ins using the bar code scanning system
Sale of student photocopy cards, The Little Book of Thermofluids and The Little Book of Design.
Dealing with telephone, email and in person enquiries from departmental academic and support staff, students and visitors, and departments throughout the University. Liaison with other University departments e.g. SSID, Finance and HR.
Booking venues and meeting rooms for academic staff and postgraduate students.
Organising car parking, hotel accommodation and catering for the Head of Department's office and assisting with e-recruitment of posts Grade 8 and above.
Qualified Display Screen Equipment (DSE) trainer and assessor for the Department.
