Outstanding in both teaching and research

National Student Survey 2009

The National Student Survey (NSS) is carried out annually to gauge the opinions of recent graduates from all the UK universities. This year the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Sheffield has scored, once again, extremely well.
Our students have given us a 90% overall satisfaction rating which places us 7th equal in the country. We have also come joint top on graduate enployment, with 95% of graduates securing graduate level jobs.

We are delighted with this result and believe this truly reflects our staff commitment to exciting and effective teaching, which translates to fulfilling careers for our graduates.
