League Table Ratings
Sheffield is one of the best places in the country to study Mechanical Engineering, according to the latest university league tables.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been ranked 3rd in both the Times Good University Guide and the Complete University Guide, behind the University of Cambridge and Imperial College, London, and 5th in the Guardian University Guide.

National Student Survey (2011)

The National Student Survey (NSS) is carried out annually to gauge the opinions of recent graduates from all the UK universities. This year the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Sheffield has once again performed extremely well.
Our students have given us a 94% overall satisfaction rating which places us in the top five in the country, while 85% of our students secured graduate-level jobs six months after finishing their course.
We are delighted with this result and believe this truly reflects our commitment to exciting and effective teaching, which translates to fulfilling careers for our graduates.
