Welcome to the Poole Laboratory homepage.
Research in the Poole laboratory aims to understand the structure, function, molecular genetics and biosynthesis of microbial respiratory proteins, especially the terminal oxidases and haemoglobins of bacteria.
In addition, we work on the bioinorganic chemistry of metal function and toxicity in microorganisms, and the influence of oxygen levels in bacterial biofilms.
