Is it necessary to have done Further Maths?
It is certainly not necessary to have done Further Maths, but it is definitely useful, and if you have the opportunity, we would recommend that you consider taking it. However, it should be stressed that the first year courses are designed for students who have done A-level Mathematics but have not studied the subject beyond that level.
Is it necessary to have done Mechanics or Statistics?
No, the first year courses in these subjects assume no previous knowledge and start from scratch.

Living in Sheffield
Do I have to have a car to live in Sheffield?
Definitely not! There is an excellent public transport system of buses and trams in Sheffield. The University is near the centre of Sheffield and lots of students live within walking distance.
I want to play hockey/football/korfball/etc. What facilities are there at the University?
