After your degree
Almost 90% of our 2014 graduates were in work or further study six months after graduation
What job will I get?
Our graduates go on to put their numerical and analytical skills into practice in lots of different ways. Finance is always a popular area and Sheffield students are often recruited by leading graduate employers such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte and Touche. They forge out successful careers in areas such as accounting, tax, pensions, banking, insurance and actuarial work.
Many students also go on to work in IT, working as computer programmers or analysts with employers ranging from the BBC to the Ministry of Defence. Others work in statistics, research and marketing. Some teach in places including Japan and Colombia, while our other alumni include a meteorologist, a safety analyst with Air Traffic Control, a tree surgeon and an environmental conservation researcher in Madagascar, putting their mathematical skills to use in all sorts of ways.
You can find more examples in the University's graduate case studies database.
