Research Frontiers in Radioactive Waste Management
A one day research symposium held in collaboration with the Nuclear Waste Research Forum at the University of Sheffield on 10 October 2012.
Who should attend?
This meeting will bring together scientists and engineers to showcase R&D in all aspects of managing the UK radioactive waste legacy, including: waste characterisation treatment, packaging, and disposal; biogeochemical transformations; site remediation; and radiation effects.
Meeting format
We welcome contributed presentations (15 mins) from established and early career researchers, in academic, industrial and other sectors. Abstracts for presentations will be selected, to form a balanced programme, by the Nuclear Waste Research Forum, which co-ordinates waste management R&D across all nuclear sites. A networking lunch will be provided, accompanied by a poster session. The meeting will open at 10.00 and close at 16.30.
