Accreditation
The Department will pay your student membership for the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, further information will be provided during skills week. This will entitle you to attend local section events, some of which are held in the Department, and will give you the opportunity to meet scientists and engineers employed in the Materials and Biomaterials industry. You will also receive literature concerning the subject and its development. Being a member of such an organization can assist your career progression, will be an important step in achieving CEng status in later years, and offers opportunities to develop your personal skills through lecture competitions etc.
