The Sheffield Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter

Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) is the international honour society serving business programmes accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The first AACSB standards, established in 1919, had the primary objective of improving collegiate business education. Over the years the standards have been revised and developed to reflect the ever-changing needs of the business profession and its students. Today, accreditation from AACSB ensures excellence across the school's critical areas including the school’s mission, operations, faculty qualifications and contributions and programmes.

The Mission of the International Honour Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honour academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.

For more information about the Sheffield BGS Chapter at the Management School email mgtalumni@sheffield.ac.uk or find out more about BGS at www.betagammasigma.org.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business programme accredited by AACSB International. Following the accreditation from AACSB in 2012, the Management School became eligible to establish a BGS Chapter here in Sheffield. The School joined the top one per cent of centres across the world – 57 globally and just 14 in the UK – to be awarded by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and the AACSB.
