Laura Moynahan

Chief Executive: Netherthorpe and Upperthorpe Community Alliance

After studying languages and business studies, Laura worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors. She is currently Chief Executive of Netherthorpe and Upperthorpe Community Alliance (NUCA), a leading Development Trust. NUCA employs 30 staff, manages a £15 million regeneration programme and is the accountable body for nearly £7 million of Yorkshire Forward and European funding. Laura is committed to ensuring the community sector is seen as an equal player in any partnership and believes in advocating for, and reporting back to, the sector as a whole and not just her organisation. She is therefore a trustee of South Yorkshire Open Forum, a member of the South Yorkshire Partnership Board, the Objective 1 Programme Management Board and the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit´s Community Forum. Laura is also a Board Member of Yorkshire Forward and Renaissance South Yorkshire. Laura lives in Upperthorpe with her partner, a university lecturer, and her two sons who attend local schools.
