Krebs Library

The working library of Sir Hans Adolf Krebs, Lecturer and subsequently Professor of Biochemistry at Sheffield from 1935 to 1954 and Nobel Laureate. For further biographical details see the Krebs Papers.

Although its importance is heavily overshadowed by the Krebs Papers this personal library is of some interest. There are around 900 items covering the life sciences, with conference proceedings, journals, and a considerable number of pamphlets and reprints of journal articles. There are also many review copies with comments by Krebs, and several books presented to him by their authors. A number of items contain loose-leaf articles and annotations.

There is a typescript catalogue of the library. None of the material is listed in the Library Catalogue.
