NHS Evidence and other information resources

A series of resources are available to enable you to answer a range of health related questions. Local guides to these resources are available for the use of NHS staff in STH. If you have any further queries about the services, or would like to arrange training for you or your department, please contact Jo Marsden, Outreach Librarian for STH at j.l.marsden@sheffield.ac.uk

Use NHS Evidence Journals and Databases to access full text electronic books and journals, bibliographic databases (such as Medline and CINAHL), journal content alerting and to register for your NHS Athens account. Athens login is required to access these services.

Use NHS Evidence Search to search across evidence selected for inclusion by NHS evidence. This will include content previously covered by the Specialist Collections and the National Library of Guidelines.

Use the Cochrane Library to search for Cochrane systematic reviews, other reviews, and the Cochrane Central database of clinical trials.

Use My Library to access electronic resources purchased regionally and locally. You will need to log in to Athens in the top right hand of the screen and scroll down to My Athens Resources. Alternatively, from NHS Evidence Journals and Databases, select Journals and click on the my account option in the top right of the screen.

Use Behind the headlines to find information about the science behind health stories in the news.
