What if the Library is not accessible to me?

If the Library is not accessible to you, you are invited either to make yourself known to the Information Commons or Library staff or to email lib-support@sheffield.ac.uk so that we can discuss your specific needs with you.
You are also advised to contact lib-support@sheffield.ac.uk for details of emergency evacuation procedures.

Where can I find information about obtaining Library material?

Information on the following is available from the 'See also' box:
  • Can someone else borrow Library material for me?

What other facilities and services are available?

  • Self-propelling wheelchairs are available for use within the Information Commons, Western Bank Library and St. George’s Library
  • Height-adjustable desks on the ground floor at St. George’s Library, on Levels 1, 2 (silent study area) and 4 in the Information Commons
  • Priority use PCs at St. George’s Library (ground floor) and Western Bank Library (in the Oasis on Level 4 and in the Architecture Collection on Level 5). Each of these PCs has a supportive chair allocated to it. Please inform the Library staff if they have been moved
  • A range of assistive software and portable or desktop magnifiers. Please see What assistive technology is available? from the ‘See also’ box
  • Low level photocopiers in the Information Commons and Western Bank Library
  • Baskets on wheels for use within the Information Commons and all Library sites
  • A trolley to carry books within the Western Bank Library
