InterLibrary Requests for Postgraduate Taught Students, Undergraduates, NHS staff and External Customers
If the item is listed on the Library catalogue Star, you can place a reservation by using the request button. An email will be sent to you as soon as the book is available.
Articles from print journals or chapters from books held by the library can be scanned and delivered to your desktop. Please see the myDocuments service for more details.
What if the Library does not have the item I want?
If the Library does not stock the item you require we will try other suppliers. This service is expensive, and we request that you use it responsibly. Undergraduates and taught Postgraduates should not normally need to make requests unless they are doing a research module or dissertation research, and an authorisation sticker for each request must be obtained from your department. Please note that the Library reserves the right to share information with your department regarding your request(s).
External borrowers will be charged. Please see here for more details.
The form can be downloaded either in Word or pdf format; please see the Quick links box. Once completed, the form can either be:
- handed in at any Library service point
- posted to Western Bank Library, Western Bank, Sheffield S10 2TN
Payment is made from your department's Library allocation so no charge will be taken from your account. Please note that the library reserves the right to share information with your department regarding your request(s).
Payment options
If you are unable to obtain approval for your requests or you are a registered external borrower, please ask at any Library service point about payment options or contact lib-dsu@sheffield.ac.uk
