Interlibrary Requests Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I obtain Interlibrary Requests forms?
Staff and Postgraduate Research students can submit their requests online via MUSE. All other users can obtain the correct form by following the links from the main InterLibrary Request Service web page.
Can I get my InterLibrary Requests direct to my desk top?
Secure Electronic Delivery is available via the British Library for Journal articles and book chapters. Please see myBLDocuments
Can I renew my Interlibrary Requests loans?
You can renew your request by contacting lib-dsu@sheffield.ac.uk or by visiting Western Bank Library, St. George´s Library or the Health Science Library. Renewals must be paid for. Please see Fines and charges
Can I check the progress of my request on MUSE?
Yes. If you log in to MUSE and click on the Library Tab, then go to Manage my Account and click on myInterLibrary Requests.
Do you allow outside institutions to borrow items or obtain photocopies?
Yes we do offer this service and ask all institutions to apply via email to lib-dsu@sheffield.ac.uk We do charge for this service
How do I access the British Library web pages?
The British Library web address is http://www.bl.uk/
Can I apply for items only available overseas?
Yes, usually this is possible if the item is published by a commercial publisher. Please be aware that this may incur further costs and may take several weeks to arrive.
What is the charge for an InterLibrary Request for an external borrower?
External borrowers must pay for InterLibrary Requests when they are made. Please see Fines and charges for more details.
