Dolphin EasyConverter user guide - Converting a PDF to DAISY, MP3 or Large Print

If your source material is not in an electronic format, please scan and save to file prior to starting the conversion.

Where indicated, further information or advice is available in Settings in Dolphin EasyConverter* or The OCR Editor and Zone Tools**

  1. Click on New Project and:
  1. Select Open a document and find the document you wish to convert by using the Browse button.
    Click Next
  2. Choose your Document language
    Select the Yes radio button if you wish to edit the document before conversion.
    Click Next
  3. EasyConverter now gives options to:
  1. Choose the alternative format required (DTB for DAISY, MP3 or Large Print) and
    select the following options for the following formats:

DAISY (DTB)

MP3

Large Print

Click Next

  1. Choose a name to call your file after it has been converted (New output). You can also add information such as date created or voice used
    Click Next
  2. Decide whether to copy your alternative format (to a Folder, CD/DVD, USB or Printer - with a choice of Printer, as appropriate to the format), or select No copy to.
    Click Next
  3. Click on Finish to start the conversion. NB: The screen may go blank for a short while
  4. Select and order the text and images required for conversion by using the tools visible within the Adjust page layout screen**. Click on the required zone tool and then on the document:
  1. When you have selected all you wish to convert on each page of the document, click on Start OCR
  2. Ignore the Preview OCR result area
    Click Save & Return and you will then be able to start editing your document fully within Microsoft Word
  3. Select Save & return from the Intermediate document editor box
  4. Click Done when completed. The converted document is displayed under Resulting alternative formats
  5. To view and / or hear your conversion select View output
  6. Conversion completed and saved to chosen folder. You can check where this is by clicking Location
