Item request

Information for part-time and distance learning students, students on placement and researchers studying at a distance.

You can request any item that is not for reference use only in the Library via the Reservations system. Your item will then be delivered to the site of your choice for collection.
Advice on how to reserve an item is available from Reservations in the Quick links.
When a reserved item is waiting for you to collect, you will receive email notification. Please read this carefully as it details both the collection site and the date by which the reserved item must be collected. If you are unable to collect your reserved item by the date specified, or would like to change the collection site, please notify us by emailing library@sheffield.ac.uk or telephoning (0114) 222 7200. Depending on the number of copies available and whether or not other Library customers are also waiting for the book, we will try to keep it on one side for you for a longer period.
If you live at a distance and intend to visit the Library on a particular day to consult a reference book, please contact the Library in advance (email: library@sheffield.ac.uk, telephone (0114) 222 7200) and we will try to ensure that it is kept on one side for you.
