Library support for deaf and hard of hearing customers

What if the Library is not accessible to me?

If the Library is not accessible to you, you are invited to either make yourself known to the Information Commons or Library staff, or email lib-support@sheffield.ac.uk so that we can discuss your specific needs with you.

Where can I find information about obtaining Library material?

Information on the following is available from the 'See also' box:
  • Can someone else borrow Library material for me?
  • Library support for customers unable to visit the Library (Postal request service)
  • What if I cannot fetch my own books from the shelves?
If you would like this information in an alternative format, please email lib-support@sheffield.ac.uk

What about the fire alarms?

Audible fire alarms are currently used in the Information Commons and all Libraries on campus.

Are induction loops available in the Library?

There are induction loop systems at many of the information points in the Information Commons and the Library. Portable hearing loops are available for use at other service points. Please email lib-support@sheffield.ac.uk for details.
