How to borrow from the Library
| If you wish to borrow from the Library you will need to present a valid UCard or Library card. You are reminded that it contravenes Library Regulations to borrow material using another person's UCard or Library card without them notifying the Library in writing that you have their permission to do so. Once you have borrowed items you are solely responsible for their security and well-being until they have been removed from your account. |

Issues The Self-service Issue point should be used where this is available. If it is not available, or you want to borrow a DVD, or book without a barcode, please take your items to the Library counter. You will be notified of the date for return, either by a receipt from the self-service issue point or by Library staff stamping each item with a return date. Items have to be returned or renewed by this date or fines may be payable. Please note that if you have borrowed several items the return dates on each may vary. |

Returns Items should be returned by the due date to the site Library from which they were borrowed. Items borrowed from the Northern General Hospital may be returned to any site Library. |
| The Self-service Return point should be used where this is available. You remain responsible for all loans until they are removed from your account. If you fail to return items or lose them, you will be charged for their replacement. If you return items by post, you should ensure that the carrier provides insurance against loss. |
