Access for customers with mobility difficulties: Royal Hallamshire Hospital
Is the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Library (RHHL) accessible?
The main entrance to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital is on Floor B and the Health Sciences Library is located on Floor C. The Hospital entrance doors are automatic and there are numerous lifts to then take you to Floor C.
Please check with the Hospital (telephone number 0114 271 1900) for the most up-to-date information on accessible parking.
A turnstile entrance is in operation at the RHHL. Library staff will be happy to open the access gate for you on entry and exit. For your safety, you are advised to sign in, please. This is so that, should an evacuation of the Library be necessary, a member of staff will be on hand to assist you.

However, whenever you hear a continuous fire alarm, you must evacuate the Library.

1. Via the Medical School. This is suitable if you are in or near to the PC suites or study room.
2. Via the Library’s entrance/exit doors and then follow the nearest ‘Fire exit’ signs.
Members of Library staff will always be happy to offer you advice.
